Expert witness

Expert witnesses are often called on to help settle legal disputes. Because of their special domain knowledge, they are considered authorities and their perspectives aid in determining the facts of the case.

Did you know that you are also an expert witness? No one is more qualified to describe your experiences than you. You are the world’s foremost expert on what you’ve seen and heard.

As Christians, we are often intimidated by the thought of offering our testimony. There is nothing to fear, however. You do not need to be a Bible scholar to describe your experience with Jesus. You are already an expert. Just tell your story. Here’s mine:

I grew up in church knowing about Jesus and what He did for us. However, it wasn’t until I chose to put God’s will above my own that I got to actually know Jesus.

No one can argue with your story. It is yours and yours alone. You are the expert. Once you’ve shared your testimony, God will open the door for that person to learn who He is and how much He loves him/her.

Here is an example from the Bible. In the first chapter of John verses 32-34, John the Baptist gives his testimony concerning Jesus:

Then John gave this testimony: “I saw the Spirit come down from heaven as a dove and remain on him. And I myself did not know him, but the one who sent me to baptize with water told me, ‘The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and remain is the one who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.’ I have seen and I testify that this is God’s Chosen One.”

John reported what he has seen and heard. You can do the same!
