Do you pray?

God certainly encourages prayer and constant communication of our needs, hopes, and desires to him. Jesus modeled consistent prayer to the Father throughout his ministry. In the end, however, the intent of prayer is to grow relationship, not necessarily to make our lives carefree and easy (although God does love us and want his best for us).

To help focus your prayer life, I think this Psalm is a great place to start.

I’m asking GOD for one thing, only one thing: To live with him in his house my whole life long. I’ll contemplate his beauty; I’ll study at his feet. Psalm 27:4 MSG
