I’m the father of a 14 year old daughter. Here’s an exchange from breakfast this morning.
“I’d already decided that I wasn’t going to have sex until I was married…” Let’s pause there for a moment. My wife and I have talked about sex with our children since they were maybe too young to grasp it, but we wanted to protect them from the inherent damage caused by sex outside of marriage. This is a decision based on God’s plans for our lives (1 Corinthians 7:2). Let’s continue.
“but now I know that I won’t. I watched a video in health class where a girl said ‘I have warts on my vagina’.”
This section of the video was about herpes. It also included a rap with the repeated line “sex is not a game”, which my daughter sang to me.
MasterCard ad analogy?
Sending my children to public school. Free. Circa 1990 health video. Priceless.
